Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed operations throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a "massive" and ongoing offensive against it by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone close to the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any damage is not yet known and the United States has not commented.

Missile Defenses Activated

Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - said they have shot down incoming projectiles in their air space.

In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had successfully engaged several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.

Iran's Declared Retaliation

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was striking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on the Islamic Republic initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That US-Israeli operation - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck areas linked to the Iranian leadership, with President Trump urging the Iranian people to revolt against the regime.

Additional Developments

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE stated that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses responded to the missiles with great effectiveness and shot down a several projectiles," it added.

The statement noted debris fell on a populated district in the capital, causing some property damage and fatalities.

The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
