Football Analyst Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Murs in Premier League Predictions

Arsenal's ten-match winning streak was ended by the Black Cats prior to the international hiatus, but can the Premier League frontrunners recover against local foes Spurs this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a range of special visitors.

In week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

The singer's new album, the new release, is out on Friday.

Football and Family Experiences

Olly is a talented footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not planning a serious return as a player.

"{I recently played in a charity match the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "My team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I still love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or son decides to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.

"I will not push football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their Saturday soccer team," he said.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly was involved with a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I get it from. He managed our side for two or three years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to wait a bit longer for their star's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is already more potent with Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this fixture will be fairly tight, though. Burnley are well organised and their sole home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

It smells of a 1-1 draw to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

Olly's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple games - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, the Hammers secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they appear strong again.

The Hammers' sole on the road win this campaign came at Forest in the summer, when West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest coach.

Therefore, what on earth do I go with here - can the Hammers continuing their run under Nuno, or the home side responding?

I will choose Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

Olly's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season began, but they have impressed a few people under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their last four matches.

My son advised me to select Bees striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much success on the road this term, and Brighton are always decent at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to attack on the break but I think the home manager's team carry much more of a danger.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

Olly's view: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a many scores but it in reality turns out to be rather tight. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge game for Fulham, who have lost five of their past six matches.

Fulham have have lots of talent in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.

Regarding Sunderland, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.

The away side's display in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not seen any other team disrupt the North London side like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The logical choice to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the close of last month.

But I am not going to choose that. Instead, I truly need to carry on going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their good outcomes because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.

Looking at the home side's home record, the sole team they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be extremely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I'm aware Sunderland are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a bad run... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough fixture to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but could they be among the sides who profit from the {international break|
