Week 10 once more provided excitement, with a major surprise for the Bills proving the 'any given Sunday' mantra that attracts so many fans into the NFL

This outcome could have created opportunities for the Patriots to move back into a leading position they formerly held, with a remaining games that provides them an edge over their 8-2 rivals

Meanwhile in the National Football Conference the Seahawks and Rams had perfect results to arrange a major confrontation next week, while our top performer is chasing records as well as the MVP award

The Breakdown - Just a Bad Day for the Bills?

Josh Allen in action
Was Josh Allen attempt too much or was it just a poor performance for Buffalo?

Was it just an emotional letdown from defeating Kansas City last week or something more? That's the question for the Buffalo team to address

The Buffalo squad had won seven in a row against the Dolphins but were second best from the beginning as the Miami team emerged as 30-13 victors in an surprising outcome - and performance

MVP Josh Allen only got the squad's initial first down in the third period and first points in the fourth - yes the Dolphins had 10 days to prepare but it was still a massive egg laid by one of the league's best offenses

Dolphins quarterback Tua passed for two scores but running back De'Von Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 combined yards and two scores

Containing the NFL's top rushing attack was also key, with James Cook and teammates registering just eighty-six yards, their fewest of the year and just over half their 161.5 yard average

Then there were the three crucial turnovers, and the two from Josh Allen specifically. An interception in the scoring area resulting in a nine minute possession produced nothing, and his final quarter dropped ball that Miami converted to a touchdown just later

It was typical 'previous Bills teams' as they hurt themselves in the foot, falling into a deficit on defense and Allen trying to do too much to rescue his squad from the situation - not the composed, controlled, balanced Bills we've witnessed this year

Miami have served up a bit of everything this year so the jury's out on whether this is the start of a trend, but for Buffalo they'll require an instant response in a difficult matchup against the Buccaneers in week 11 as the Patriots are sneaking into a comfortable advantage at the top of the AFC East

Spotlight - Patriots See Path to Unexpected First Place

Speaking of the New England, they're one of three eight and two squads in the NFL, all AFC sides, but could they be the best?

You can find flaws in the Patriots, the Broncos and the Colts really for dominating the lesser sides, with only five of their combined twenty-four wins coming against opponents with a positive record - and one of those was the Colts beating the Denver

The Broncos beat the champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are kings of the final quarter while Indianapolis can ride Taylor, but the New England including Sunday's win in Tampa to their primtime win in Buffalo seems like a declaration

Their pair of losses came in new head coach Vrabel's first three contests, with seven straight wins, similar to Denver, since then - but defeating Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a bye to get ready was huge

Drake Maye's MVP claims won't go away, and he certainly earns point for courage after absorbing some savage hits in Tampa Bay but persevering to guide his side to success

The defense is reliable and rookie rusher TreVeyon Henderson exploded on game day with 147 rushing yards and two exciting scores of 55 and 69 yards - becoming just the fifth different ball carrier to exceed 22mph this year on his first score

While you can argue who 'the top team' is technically, the Pats should be favorites to end with the top record thanks to their remaining opponents - which features just one game against a successful opponent, although a significant contest against Buffalo

Visiting the Ravens is challenging too, but Denver have it more difficult in the AFC West division with the Kansas City to face two times, the Chargers (who might also challenge for top seed but encounter the identical challenge) and additionally the Packers on the schedule

The Colts also face the Chiefs, and have the Seahawks, San Francisco and two matchups with the five and four Jacksonville to contend with. There's a long way to travel but the door is open for a shock top seed in the AFC

Next Week - Rams & Seahawks Prepare for Next Week Showdown

Both squads with solid claims to be superior to all of the three eight and two teams are National Football Conference West opponents the Seattle and Rams, who each put up 40 burgers to reach 7-2 before next week's major game between the pair in LA

Both have secured four victories in a consecutive games, have quarterbacks in Stafford and Darnold performing at an elite level (although Darnold had turnover issues on game day) with excellent pass catchers, and defenses giving up under 20 points a contest

Each could easily be undefeated as well - especially the Rams as their two defeats occurred in overtime against the San Francisco and then that painful defeat in Philadelphia when they had a potentially winning field goal with the last kick blocked and returned by the Eagles for a touchdown

Seattle also lost to San Francisco, with a late touchdown in week one, before falling to the final play of the contest against the Buccaneers - so they're genuinely among the top teams in the league

The next matchup on Sunday could be the most exciting of the year to date

Top Performer - Jonathan Taylor

Taylor could be on for a record season after his incredible display in Germany - rushing for 244 rushing yards, scoring three scores and adding an additional 42 {receiving yards
